「BLOOMBERG PAVILION PROJECT」

"Architectural Concept
I wished to create a pavilion that resembled a single tree.

Trees have a symbolic shape.  Simultaneously they produce shade while providing an ideal space for mankind.  I wondered what would happen if the walls were to keep growing upwards and present an uneven surface like ‘pleats’.  Pleats resemble a tree in the way that they spread out and capture the sun and I felt that they would produce a bright, impressive exterior.  I also thought that the space beneath this surface would present a relaxed atmosphere, similar to that of tree shade that would be an ideal quality for an exhibition space.

The pleated surface was created using an extremely simple technique.  It consists entirely of combinations of isosceles triangles in what is called a hyplane structure, producing a continuous curved, pleated surface.  This basic structure can be repeated in a simple fashion to construct an organic whole.  It is similar to the way in which a tree branches repeatedly in a simple form that assists efficient photosynthesis.

What does nature or simplicity mean in architecture?  This small pavilion poses an important question for the future.

一本の樹木のようなパヴィリオンをつくりたいと思った。
樹木はシンボリックな形をしている。と同時に、木陰のような、人間にとって快適な空間をつくりだしてもいる。
たとえば、壁が上に向かってどんどん成長し、もこもこした「ひだ」のような連続面をつくったらどうなるか。「ひだ」はちょうど樹木のように広がって光を受け、明るい印象的な外観をつくりだすだろう。またこの面によってその下には、ちょうど木陰のように少し落ち着いた、展示空間にふさわしい質を持った場所ができるだろう。
ひだ状の面は、とても単純な方法でつくられている。ハイプレインと呼ばれる同じ二等辺三角形を組み合わせるだけで、一定の割合でたわんだひだ状の連続面ができるのだ。ここでは、単純な反復が、有機的なまとまりを生み出している。ちょうど樹木というまとまりが、光合成に有利な単純な枝分かれの反復でできているように。
建築にとって自然とは、あるいは単純さとは何か。この小さなパヴィリオンはそういう大きな問いを、私たちの未来に投げかけている。

I record because there are favorite art works at Collection Gallery of Museum in Contemporary Art Tokyo and I felt fun unexpectedly. Of course, not only Yoshitomo Nara works were fantastic but also Nobuya Hitsuda works are attractive. I love them. Especially, a tense atmosphere which Toshinobu Onosato works have hue and lines at special exhibit excited me. It's interesting.

I love a moment that I feel artists's love in their own pictures.

東京都現代美術館の常設展示室で観た展示が思いの外、好きな作品が多くて楽しかったので記録。奈良美智さんの作品はもちろん、櫃田伸也さんの作品も素敵でした。好きです。何より特別展示のオノサト・トシノブさんの作品は、色合いと線の緊張感にワクワクしました。楽しい。

絵の中に込められる、作者の愛情を感じる瞬間が好きです。

And more, the exhibit focused the name of art works is good. I got to think relations of Art works, title and word from it. Existance of Art works changes by Angle to catch. Art is ever-changing. It's tricky.

さらに作品の名前にスポットを当てた展示も面白かったです。作品と題、言葉の関係性を考えさせられました。捉える視点によって作品の存在が変わっていく。芸術って、変幻自在ですね。ずるいなー。

"The 'Future Beauty' exhibition focuses on Japanese fashion, its creativity and the cultural background of its powerful design.----This exhibition was originally held at the Barbican Art Gallery (London) in 2010, then the Haus der Kunst (Munich) in 2011, where it was extremely well received. In addition to the work shown overseas, the exhibition at the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo will also include a section entitled 'Virtuality and Reality', presenting the work of young fashion designers to provide a hint of the future direction of fashion."

BOULE DE SUIF / LA MAISON TELLIER

I read "BOULE DE SUIF / LA MAISON TELLIER".  It's sensational title and a catchword, ' He portrayed society in microcosm well.' attract me. So I bought it. It is said that this is novelette. But it's a thin paperback book. It's easy to read it in a train.

Main of both contents is a prostitue. It's impressive description about human ugliness like former opinion. I  "BOULE DE SUIF" 's background is the Franco-Prussian War. Although I don't understand the period easily, I kept nodding my head about appearance of human relationship. I felt human feelings including contradiction.

From beginning to end, it's describing something objectively. So such feels isn't solemn and it's wonderful mood that I saw states of the characters dispassionately.  

I can't hate each character who I can't like meekly with irony. 

Because I cross my mind that I may do same action in a state of same condition.

It's said that "Une vie" is one of famous novels written by Maupassant. I'd like to read it.

『脂肪の塊・テリエ館』読みました。題名のインパクトと「社会の縮図を見事に描き上げた」という謳い文句につられて購入。中篇小説らしいですが、届いたのは薄い文庫本でした。電車の中で読みやすい。

内容は、両作品とも娼婦を中心に描かれたもの。前説通り、人間の醜さの描写が印象的。特に『脂肪の塊』は普仏戦争が背景となっているので、私には容易く想像できない時代なのに、描かれている人間模様は、頷くことばかり。人間の矛盾した感情が伝わってきました。

始終、客観描写なので、そんな感情すらも重々しくなく、冷静に登場人物たちの様子を眺めていられるという不思議な読み心地。

どの登場人物も素直に好きにはなれない皮肉さがあるのに憎めない。

私も同じ状況なら、似たようなことをしてしまうのではないかと頭をよぎるからかな。

モーパッサンは『女の一生』も有名らしいので、そっちも読んでみよう。

HANABI

日本の夏の風物詩、花火。日本人は花火を見ると「た～まや～」と叫ぶ習慣があるけど、何故「たまや」なのかは、あまり知られていないような気がする。私は今さっき知った。Wikipediaで。どうやら江戸の人気の花火業者が玉屋だったらしく、称賛の意も含んで江戸の人が叫んでいた名残らしい。ちなみに老舗は鍵屋。今さら「か～ぎや～」なんて叫べないなー。

HANABI, fireworks, are a feature of summer in Japan. It's customary for Japanese to shout 'Ta~MaYa~' in looking at HANABI. But I guess that the reason why do we say "Tamaya". isn't popular. I knew it just now. On Wikipedia. Somehow it seems that popular fireworks maker in the Edo era was Tamaya and that shout including praise from the Edo people have remained. By the way, the oldest fireworks maker is Kagiya. I can't shout 'Ka~GiYa~' after such a long time.

new method of learning English

I like to listen great presentations of TED talks recently. I appreciate TED sponsors. and now, I got "TED subtitle", an iPhone application. This app is very very useful for learning other languages. I have enjoyable learning time. It's important to get interesting English for me. I often was troubled by learning English. So, my English skill is stagnant. It's hard to continue learning English everyday. But I want to talk variety people and know great idea quickly.Therefore I must get English skill to speak frequently. I'll put this app in my life. Although I say, it is basic method. It's only to listen and write favorite presentation. That's instructive for me. I'd like to continue this method.


In addition, I start to post " one sentence a day" on Eit8, my facebook page.

It was the morning before last in the all clear sky, and I discovered a spider.h
The spider ran away into a pipe then.

一昨日の朝、雲ひとつない空で、クモを発見。

でもクモはパイプの中へ逃亡。

Incidentally, the clouds and a spider are same sound in Japanese.

Both call it "KUMO".

ちなみに雲とクモは日本語で同じ音です。

両方とも「くも」と呼びます。

Well, this post was a stale joke.

"There is not the clouds but there is a spider."
"There is not KUMO but there is KUMO."

そう、今回の記事は陳腐なジョークでした。

「雲はないのにクモがいる。」
「KUMOはないのにKUMOがいる。」

Care of accessories

I cared of accessories.

アクセサリーのお手入れをしました。

Jingle jingle.

When old sister's and my accessories gather, it's somewhat fun.  

じゃらじゃら。

姉と私のアクセサリー、集まるとなんだか楽しい。

The metal part of darkish accessories become shiny if you soak them in a neutral detergent with water lightly.

The heavy dirt becomes smooth if you rub it kindly.

Try it.

くすんだアクセサリーの金属部は水を加えた中性洗剤に軽く浸けただけでピカピカに。

しつこい汚れは優しくこすればツルツルに。

お試しあれ。

Alice in dancing land

I went to a reception party "Alice in dancing land" last friday night.
It's a restaurant based on a concept of "Alice in wonderland" and open at Spainzaka in Shibuya tomorrow.

There interior is imagined a part of Alice's world.
I interested in a personal space, "the hatter's secret party".

It's buffe style with the dish made Alice's world too.
There waiters dressed in a character of Alice's. Alice in my picture mixed a salad with singing.

Other conceptual restaurants like fun too.

先週の金曜の夜、「舞踏の国のアリス」のレセプションパーティにお邪魔してきました。
「不思議の国のアリス」のコンセプトレストランで明日渋谷スペイン坂にオープンします。

フロア内はアリスの世界の一部をイメージした内装です。
個人的には"帽子屋のシークレットティーパーティ"の個室ブースが気になりました。

料理もアリスの世界を表現したビュッフェスタイル。
店員さんはアリスのキャラクターになっています。写真のアリスは歌いながらサラダをかき混ぜてくれました。

他のコンセプトレストランも面白そう。

I went to "TOKYO VANSANKAI" that is the first event in a project shop "IDOL" made by Eiji Hatanaka, is a creative director.

The space where creators to send now of TOKYO mixed.
It was a very very exciting night.

Every corner of the interior in this shop is cool.
I'd like to go there again.


昨夜、クリエイティブディレクター畑中英司さんが手がけるプロジェクトショップ「IDOL」のファーストイベント、
「東京晩餐会」に行ってきました。

東京の今を発信するクリエイターが交錯した空間。
とっっても刺激的な一夜。

ショップの内装も隅々まで格好良い。
また行きたい。
